Ohio University-Chillicothe will host an Adult Application Fair at 6 p.m. on June 17 in Bennett Hall room 134 on campus. The event is designed for non-traditional students, and the focus will be on the steps to take to enroll in OU-C for fall quarter, which begins Sept. 7.
“This is tailored for students who are not attending college straight out of high school and who have not been in a classroom setting for some time,” OU-C Manager of Student Recruitment TJ Eveland said. “We are looking to address their particular concerns. Much of the time will be spent answering their questions. Beyond learning from OU-C Student Services staff members who will be on hand, those in attendance can learn from their fellow non-traditional students.”
“Since many of these individuals have been in the workforce for a number of years and have family responsibilities, much of the focus will be on how to make the transition to a college student. For example, we will discuss the resources that are available on campus to help them succeed, such as financial aid options and academic support programs,” Eveland said.
“We will discuss the basics of enrolling in college, such as completing an application and applying for financial aid. We realize that adult learners have special concerns, and we want to answer their questions and serve as a resource. It is part of OU-C’s commitment to serving as a gateway to higher education for regional residents.”
Those attending may bring their children. Orientation for fall quarter begins June 25 and continues throughout the summer. The session is expected to last about an hour.
