Dywayne Nicely has been named assistant professor of mathematics at Ohio University-Chillicothe, effective fall quarter 2010.
He is currently on the faculty at the University of Charleston (W.Va.) and was previously a faculty member at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Fla., and a graduate teaching assistant at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.
Nicely earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, each in mathematics, from Marshall and a doctoral degree from Baylor.
He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Nicely has delivered presentations at several professional conferences and has authored articles for scholarly publications.
“I am pleased that Dywayne Nicely is joining the faculty on the Chillicothe Campus. He has strong academic credentials and extensive classroom experience that should serve him well in this position,” OU-C acting Dean Michael Lafreniere said.
