Faculty members earn promotions

Exceptional teaching is vital to the OU-C educational experience.

Three Ohio University-Chillicothe faculty members have earned promotions, effective with the beginning of the 2015-16 academic year:

•    Jamie Harmount, Early Childhood Education. Harmount was promoted to the rank of associate lecturer. She earned her associate degree in applied business, master’s degrees in child and family services as well as education administration-teacher leader, and her doctoral degree in education, all from Ohio University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wilmington College. Harmount joined the OU-C faculty as a part-time instructor in 2001 and became full-time in 2008. She has served on a statewide committee charged with developing recommendations for a teacher mentorship program.

•    Vicky Parker, Health Services Administration . Parker was promoted to associate professor. Parker earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University, her master’s degrees in nursing and in family nurse practitioner from Wright State University and her Ph.D. in health care administration from Capella University. She joined the OU-C faculty in 1993. Parker was named the 2009 Ross County Nurse of the Year and was included in the Ohio Magazine 200 Excellence in Education program, which recognizes outstanding college educators.

•    Allison White, Office Technology. White was promoted to associate professor and also earned tenure. White earned her associate degree in secretarial technology from Ohio University, her bachelor’s degree with a dual major in business administration and marketing from Franklin University and a master’s degree in technology education from Wright State University. She joined the OU-C faculty in 2009. She has published articles in international academic journals on creating interdisciplinary coursework for degree programs as well as the creation of technology-rich environments and curriculum.
