Welcome Week activities provide students with resources to thrive during fall semester

New and returning OU-C students are invited to kick off the upcoming fall semester with a series of Welcome Week activities. The annual week-long event is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Presidents Club. Welcome Week is extremely student-focused and is designed to help students set the stage for success as they return to campus for the beginning of fall semester on August 24.

2015 Welcome Week events include:

•    Monday, August 24: The Student Activities Fair and Cookout will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Bennett Hall. Students will have the opportunity to visit informational tables hosted by various OU-C organizations and departments to learn how to get involved on campus. Fair attendees will also enjoy free food and music starting at noon. Hamburgers, hotdogs, soft drinks and sweets will be available to all while supplies last.

•    Monday, August 24 & Tuesday, August 25: OU-C faculty and staff volunteers will host welcome tables for students from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Bennett Hall Lobby. Students are encouraged to stop by for help finding classes, to ask questions or to grab something sweet before class.

•    Wednesday, August 26: Join OU-C staff and students for an afternoon of disc dunk, kickball, cornhole and other outdoor games starting at 2 p.m. at the Shoemaker Center. Students can arrive and play for any duration of time that their class schedule allows.

•    Thursday, August 27: Invite your family and friends to the fifth annual Movie Under the Stars & Ice Cream Social! Set up your favorite camping chair or blanket in the field between Bennett Hall and the Shoemaker Center for this year’s blockbuster, Pitch Perfect 2 (PG-13). Ice cream will be served at 8:30, and the film will begin at dark.
