Human Services Association students hosting community yard sale

Ohio University-Chillicothe Human Services Association students will host a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 4 in the Shoemaker Center on campus. In addition to the sale items, food and cold drinks will be available for purchase.

Donations will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the east door of the Shoemaker Center on June 3, and HSA students will be available to help unload materials. To arrange a pickup, contact Sara Winans at or by phone at (740) 851-7251.

Donations are being collected by the students in the HSA group.  Please contact Sara Winans by email at or by phone at (740) 851-7251 to arrange a pick-up, or students will be available to help people drop off donations between 11 a.m. until 4:45 pm on June 3 at the east door of the Shoemaker gym, 101 University Drive.

Suggested items for donation are tools, televisions and other appliances, toys and games, books, jewelry, baskets, handbags, pictures and other decorations, toiletries, clothing, office supplies, housewares, collectibles, clothing, sports equipment, and baby and children’s items. Students will not accept bedding, weapons, or animals for this sale.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward the annual Trick or Treat Extravaganza, which benefits area youth and families, and to support the Ross County Mental Health Association.

The HSA student club has been in existence since 2005, and student club members volunteer to assist several community social service activities as well as allow OU-C students the opportunity to become actively involved in community service. These skills benefit them in their professional and personal pursuits.
