OU-C faculty member Mary Barbara Trube delivers opening address at international conference in China

OU-C Professor of Education Mary Barbara Trube, Ed.D.., recently participated in the sixth China, Canada, United States English Immersion (CCUEI) Research Collaborative Conference in Xi’an, Peoples Republic of China. Trube was invited to deliver an opening address on behalf of American CCUEI researchers.

As a member of the CCUEI curriculum development writing team since 2000, she also evaluated English Immersion (EI) demonstration lessons given by elementary and middle school EI teachers attending the conference from throughout China. The updated 2016 version of the English Immersion Teacher Evaluation and Feedback Form developed by Xiaodan Huang, Shawnee State University faculty member, and Trube (2006), was featured in the conference program for attendees to use when observing demonstration-teaching lessons.

In addition, following her observations of kindergarten EI demonstration-teaching sessions, she joined Dr. Sylvia Ieong, from the University of Macau, in providing reflective comments to more than 60 EI kindergarten teachers. Dr. Trube will present an informational session about her work with the CCUEI during the fall semester of 2016-17. Please notify her at if you would like more information.
